*প্রয়োজন যার ফুরিয়েছে-আশ্রয় কি তার বৃদ্ধাশ্রম ?

---একটা গল্প , হয়ত আমরা অনেকেই শুনেছেন। ছোট একটা সংসার। বাবা, মা, ছোট ছেলে এবং ছেলেটার দাদা।

দাদার অনেক বয়স হয়ে গেছে। কোন কাজ করার শক্তি। নেই। সারাদিন এক বিছানায় পড়ে থাকে। একদিন ছেলেটার বাবা একটা ঝুড়ির উপর বুড়োকে বসিয়ে জঙ্গলের উদ্যেশ্যে রওনা দিল। যাচ্ছে , যাচ্ছে।

বেশ কিছুদুর যাওয়ার পর ছেলেটা হঠাৎ তার বাবাকে জিজ্ঞেস করলো, "বাবা, তুমি দাদুকে ঝুড়িতে করে কোথায় নিয়ে যাচ্ছ?"

তোমার দাদুকে আমরা এখন জঙ্গলের ভেতর রেখে আসবো", বাবা উত্তর দেয়।

কেন?", ছেলেটা অবাক হয়।

কারন তোমার দাদুতো বুড়ো হয়ে গেছে, কোন কাজ করতে পারেনা। আমাদের কোন উপকারেও লাগেনা। শুধু খায় আর ঘুমায়। কি লাভ তাকে বাসায় রেখে?

তাই তাকে আমরা জঙ্গলে রেখে আসতে যাচ্ছি। "

ওহ!", কিছুক্ষন কি যেন ভাবে ছোট ছেলেটা, তারপর বলল, "ঠিক আছে বাবা, কিন্তু দাদুকে রেখে আসার সময় আমরা কিন্তু অবশ্যই ঝুড়িটা নিয়ে আসবে।

কেন", একটু অবাক হয় বাবা।

কারন, যখন আমি বড় হব, তুমি তো তখন বুড়ো হয়ে যাবে, দাদুর মত। তখন তুমি কোন কাজই করতে পারবানা। শুধু খাবা আর ঘুমাবা। তখন তো তোমাকে বাসায় রেখে আমার কোন লাভই হবে না। শুধু শুধু তখন টাকা খরচ করে নতুন ঝুড়ি কিনতে যাব কেন? এই ঝুড়িতে করেই না হয় তোমাকে জঙ্গলে রেখে যাব।

ছেলের কথায় চমকে উঠলো বাবা। হঠাৎ করেই নিজের ভূল বুঝতে পারলো। বুঝতে পারলো সে যখন ছোট ছিল, যখন কোন কিছু করারই ক্ষমতা ছিলনা, তখন তার বাবা মা-ই তাকে যত্ন করে বড় করেছে। আজ তার বাবা বুড়ো হয়ে যেন শিশু হয়ে গেছে। ছোটবেলায় যেমন তার বাবা তাকে বুকের মধ্যে আগলে রেখেছিল, এখন তেমনি তার দায়িত্ব হলো তার বাবাকে আগলে রাখা। এই সময়ে তার বাবার প্রতি তার সেবা, হয়ত কিছুটা হলেও তার বাবার প্রতি ঋন শোধ করা হবে।

the father was shocked by the son's words.  suddenly he realized his mistake.  he realized that when he was young, when he could not do anything, his parents took care of him and raised him.  today his father is old and has become a child.  just as his father held him in his arms as a child, so now his duty is to hold his father in his arms.  at this point his service to his father, perhaps even a little, will be repaid to his father.
